Yesterday

To many, yesterday means nothing. To me yesterday brought something to me. I asked John a co-worker if he liked poetry. He said yes. I shared one with him I read and read several times that day from the book title Letters From Iceland, I told him I really liked this one. After he read it he said, he liked the first part but he said the second part was very dark. I told him read the paragraph before the poem. He did. Then he said oh I see he is talking about the seven ages of man. I asked him what that was. He told me at the museum, Crystal Bridges there is a whole room filled with paintings pertaining to the seven ages of man. He said you don’t realize it when you first walk in. He explained further and then quoted part of the paragraph “a girl playing a flute to a young man, two infants wrestling in a meadow, and an old man staggering to a grave”.
I would share the poem here but choose not too. But if you get a chance and want to read it that poem is on page 141, the paragraph before on page 140, I guess, if the same copy as mine.
But now I must plan a trip to Crystal Bridges soon. crystalbridges.org
