You have taken a beating over the past several years,
Lightning struck you,
Your top died within a few months leaving them to rot up so high,
But you managed to remain alive,
The heavy weight of an ice storm on your branches broke many and left many hanging,
But you managed to remain alive,
You have been hit again by the mighty bolt of lightning,
You have lost a huge limb that weights other branches down,
Old oak tree you have lived out your age,
Soon you will become firewood turning to ash,
Some of you will decompose,
Feeding the land, insects and such,
In your place the sun will shine on the south side of the house that stands where future begins.
Thank God for the tree otherwise my dog may have become fried, or my house may have gone up in flames.
